THE PUSHTUN COMMUNITY

horizontal rule

Puhtuns belong to a community that is based mostly on tribal system. Pushtuns, all over the world, like to be recognized by their tribes rather than a general recognition as Pushtuns. This genetically historical trend keeps Pustuns in a state of continuous and healthy competition within and outside, to uphold the Pushtun Code of Ethics ("The Pushtunwalee")

Some of the major Pushtun tribes are:

Durrani, Ghilzai, Waziri, Khattaks, Afridi, Shilmani, Yousafzai, Wardak, Jaji, Tani, Jadran, Mangal, Khugiani, Safi , Momand, Shinwari, Muhammadzai, Orakzai, Niazi, Utman Khel, Gigiani, Gadun (or Jadun), Khalili,  Mashwani, Bangash, Achakzai etc.
